Interview with Sari: : Healing Through Energy, Compassion, and Courage

Sari’s journey from corporate stress and life’s toughest challenges led her to Reiki, meditation, and healing. She now guides others to release trauma, find inner peace, and build resilience through compassionate energy work and mindful coaching.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in your field?

My name is Sari, and my journey truly began around 11 years ago. I had spent 15 years in the banking world and was struggling with severe stress. After a promotion, I became the target of jealousy and bullying from colleagues, which led me to lose all sense of meaning in my work. To cope with the toxic environment and still pursue my dreams, I turned to various forms of coaching.
During that time, I also consulted a medium who told me I had a lot of healing energy within me. Curious, I began exploring what that meant and soon found my Reiki Master on the south side of Stockholm. Learning Reiki brought me an inner stillness and peace I hadn’t known before, and I felt called to continue deepening my practice.

In the second level of the course, my teacher told me she sensed a path opening up for me in India. At the time, I couldn’t imagine how India could relate to my life, until a friend of my neighbor started messaging me on Facebook, saying he was heading to South India. Remembering what my teacher had said, I followed my curiosity and joined him. That journey led me to a vast white temple and powerful meditation and yoga practices that helped release emotional baggage I had carried for years.

How did you come to work as a professional in your specific practice? What inspired you?

My journey wasn’t only shaped by stress it also took a dramatic turn when I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and went through chemotherapy. That experience forced me to reflect deeply on my life and all I had gone through up to that point. I realized I had been carrying trauma since childhood, which both Reiki and the meditation techniques I’d learned in India helped me process and release.

I couldn’t help but think surely others have lived through similar pain. These tools had helped me heal and find calm in the midst of chaos, and I felt called to share them. A medium friend in my neighborhood encouraged me and even booked us a venue. Together, we started offering meditation and healing sessions in a rustic barn owned by the local heritage association in Upplands Väsby. The response was overwhelming. That spark reignited something in me and gave me the strength to leave the banking world behind for good.

What has been, and still is, your intention and motivation for doing the work you’re doing?

Ever since I was little, I felt a deep connection to Michael Jackson’s song “Heal the world, make it a better place.” It captured exactly how I’ve always wished the world would feel, a place where people are healed from trauma and live in peace and compassion with all beings. That longing still guides everything I do. I also feel so much joy when I see others happy, when they fulfill their dreams and goals. That keeps me going.

Can you explain your specific practice to someone who is completely new to it?

When you enter a Reiki healing session with me, you’ll be welcomed into a calm space with candlelight, and during colder days, a warm fire. We start with a short conversation about what you’re currently facing, physically or emotionally. Then, you lie fully clothed on a massage table, wrapped in blankets , I place my hands gently on different parts of your body to channel Reiki energy, which helps dissolve energetic blocks and supports both emotional and physical healing. Afterward, many feel a deep stillness and peace, something the body needs regularly to release toxins stored in the body and mind.
If you feel called to practice Reiki yourself, I offer training both in-person and online. You'll learn how to balance your energy, clear what no longer serves you, and help others through healing.

In my meditation sessions either online or in person - I guide you through ancient teachings that open your awareness and prepare you for deep meditative practices from India. We end with Deeksha, a sacred energy transfer placed briefly on the crown of your head. It helps bring clarity to inner blocks and attachments so you can be free of them.
When we work together through stress coaching, I ask you powerful questions, the kind only you have the answers to. This brings insight into what you have the power to change, what limiting beliefs are holding you back, and how to transform that downward spiral into your greatest strength, into fuel for your dreams. These sessions are offered by phone or online.

If you could describe your practice in a few words, what would it be?

My space is warm and welcoming. As a coach, I’m compassionate and encouraging but I also know when to be a little tough, to help you stay focused and committed to your healing. It’s about showing up, practicing, reflecting, and staying aware.

What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to be more conscious about their practice and life?

You need to understand the importance of consistency and patience - healing doesn’t happen by avoiding your feelings. Many people are used to reaching for something quick to numb discomfort, but shortcuts often lead to dependency, side effects, or the same problems returning faster.

True healing is about meditating, practicing yoga, reflecting, and giving yourself healing daily. And when you lose focus or feel disconnected, it’s about using the tools you’ve learned to come back to yourself and realign.

Do you have any stories you could share about realizing the impact of your work on your daily life?

Yes, I’ve witnessed many powerful transformations. One woman who came to me for healing and meditation completely lost her urge to smoke and quit altogether, and the same happened with my own mother, after 50 years of smoking.
Another woman had lost all interest in reading, something she used to love. After receiving healing, she found that joy again.
I also trained a young man in Reiki Levels 1 and 2 who struggled with intense anxiety. He had an incredible singing voice but was terrified to sing in public. After the training, he not only began singing openly, but also traveled solo, got his driver’s license despite past trauma from a car accident and found new confidence in himself. Reiki training especially has a life-changing effect. So many of my students experience profound shifts right after completing their course.

Was there a moment when you realized you wanted to dedicate yourself to the well-being of yourself and others?

That calling has always been with me. But I’ve also faced deeply challenging circumstances, especially in past work environments, like elder care and psychiatric care - where cost-cutting measures put both staff and patients at risk. Those experiences forced me to reflect on how much of myself I could give without burning out. They reminded me to always stay aware of balance between work, personal life, and my own well-being. That awareness is something I carry with me in all I do.

If you could lead a session anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would lead a meditation and Deeksha session for the Swedish Parliament and government. World leaders carry immense pressure and clear dependencies - they need to move away from aggression toward a place of compassion and higher purpose.

What’s a fun fact that your clients don’t know about you?

That I’ve spent an entire night meditating in the Indian jungle alongside many other meditators.

What’s your most memorable experience with a client or participant?

Early in my healing journey, I worked with a client who had a cancer recurrence. Before she arrived, I intuitively felt everything she was going through but didn’t fully understand it until she spoke.
After the session, her symptoms and the impressions I’d received stopped. It was intense - she felt nauseous, and I could sense that deeply too.

Later, another healer taught me how to protect myself from taking in too much during healing sessions. That advice helped me greatly.

Is there a book, quote, or philosophy that has deeply influenced your approach to your practice?

The Four Sacred Secrets by Krishnaji and Preethaji. It holds so many insights that have transformed me on many levels. I often read from it during my meditations.
