Interview With Arianna: Unlocking the Power of Synergy and Intuitive Movement

Arianna transforms movement into a journey of self-discovery and liberation. Through Synergy, she invites you to listen to your body’s wisdom, move with ease and strength, and break free from limitations. Get ready to experience movement like never before.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in your field?

I started yoga when I moved to Stockholm in 2013, through classes at the campus gym. It was BodyBalance, but it was my foot into the world of yoga. Before that I have danced since I was young and yoga became a practice similar to dancing. I also practiced pilates, ballet and contemporary dance. Then I discovered a yoga studio called Yogansa and that is where I started my first real yoga classes. I got into Ashtanga and Rocket yoga and thought it was super fun and challenging.

How did you come to work as a professional in your specific practice? What inspired you?

After 5 years of practice I felt I wanted to learn more, deeper. I asked around and my friend Mateusz told me about Yoga Synergy and Simon’s work. I did some research and got very intrigued by how different and scientific his approach was. So I went to study with him in Bali in 2019.

Many yoga teacher trainings give the impression that completing 200 hours and getting a certificate automatically makes you a yoga teacher. However, the journey is longer than that. It took me 9 months of daily practice during the afternoon to re-programme my body and learn the new movements well enough to teach them.

What has been, and still is, your intention and motivation for doing the work you’re doing?

When I began my teacher training, I was in pain. I thought I was strong and well-trained, but in reality, I was overworked, exhausted, and my body was crying out for change. I had been dealing with lower back pain for at least 15 years, along with knee and wrist pain. I started to fear that these injuries would never heal, until Simon helped me understand their root cause. I was over-tensing, pushing too hard in many Asanas (postures) without proper preparation, understanding, or strength.

Once I learned to relax my abdomen and letting go of the habit of constantly pulling in my navel, and avoided backbends, my lower back pain disappeared within six months. The moment I stopped forcing my body and instead moved in ways that felt natural and good, I experienced an overwhelming sense of power and liberation. That shift didn’t just heal my body; it transformed my entire life.

This is what drives me ; our bodies are always communicating with us, but we’re rarely taught how to listen or understand their language. My work is about providing the tools and knowledge to address discomfort at its root, to relax and move in ways that make the whole body feel warm, soft, and free. Through this, we also develop the ability to make choices that truly support our well-being.

Can you explain your specific practice to someone who is completely new to it?

Synergy practice is different from the usual Vinyasa flow. It’s an experience that invites you to let go of expectations and explore movement in a new way. It’s not just a yoga class, it’s a full-body conversation with yourself, filled with balance, soft strength, playfulness, and curiosity. We move more, and we move deeper than what you may be used to. We embrace bending, circling, and softening our movements, creating space to feel, explore, and reconnect with our bodies in a way that is both empowering and freeing.

If you could describe your practice in a few words, what would they be?

Flow, warmth, pleasure, dance.

What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to be more conscious about their practice and life?

To build the practice and your life around what feels aligned to you, around what is a big “yes” instead of “maybe”. To listen to the intuition, and follow your cycles.

What's your most memorable experience with a client or participant?

I had a client who believed she would never be able to do “advanced” one-legged balances because of her size. For months, we worked on building her balance, strength, and confidence slowly, patiently, without forcing. And then, one day, she did it.
Her face lit up, her eyes filled with tears. It wasn’t just about the pose, it was about the realization that she could do something she once thought was impossible. That moment was pure magic.

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self or the younger generation?

I don't have any advice to my younger self but I would like to tell her that : I have lived a full and rich life, and I am proud of the path I have taken. Every experience, choice, and challenge has shaped who I am today. I wouldn't change a single thing about my past.

Do you have any stories you could share about realizing the impact of your work on your daily life?

I worked as a preschool teacher, first full-time, then part-time. In April 2022 or 2023 (I honestly can’t remember), my boss gave me an ultimatum : commit to an 80% or 100% workload or leave to focus on my own business. The way she delivered it was harsh, but the message was clear - it was a turning point.

I realized, with absolute clarity, that I wanted to serve the world in my own way, surrounded by people who aligned with my values. So, I quit. It was terrifying, but also one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
